MANHATTAN, N.Y. — The New York City Police Department is requesting the public’s help in identifying a suspect wanted in connection with an assault that took place in Midtown earlier this month.

The incident occurred on Saturday, October 12, at around 12:00 p.m., near the intersection of Avenue of the Americas and West 40th Street, within the 14th Precinct. According to police, a 23-year-old man was walking in the area when an unidentified individual approached him, directed racial slurs at him, and proceeded to repeatedly punch him in the face.

The suspect then fled westbound on 40th Street. The victim, who suffered facial injuries, declined medical attention at the scene.

The NYPD has released images of the individual wanted in connection to the incident and is asking anyone with information about the suspect’s identity or whereabouts to contact authorities. The investigation is ongoing as police work to address the apparent hate-motivated assault.
