NYPD Seeks Suspect in Staten Island Swastika Artist

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The New York City Police Department is requesting the public’s help in identifying a suspect wanted in connection with an aggravated harassment incident that occurred on Friday, August 23, 2024, in Staten Island. The incident took place at approximately 8:17 a.m. at 15B Richmond Terrace, within the confines of the 120th Precinct.

NYPD Seeks Suspect in Staten Island Swastika Artist

According to police reports, an unidentified individual drew a swastika on a wall at the location. The act, which is being investigated as a hate crime, did not result in any injuries. The NYPD’s Hate Crimes Unit is leading the investigation.

The suspect is described as a male with a light complexion, approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall, and weighing around 140 pounds. After the incident, he was last seen boarding the Staten Island Ferry at the St. George Terminal.

The NYPD is urging anyone with information about the individual or the incident to contact the police. “Hate crimes have no place in our city, and we are committed to identifying and apprehending those responsible,” the department stated.

Authorities are reviewing surveillance footage and other evidence as part of their ongoing investigation. No further details have been released at this time.
