NEW YORK, NY — A distressing incident occurred in the subway system of New York City late Friday evening, prompting a police search for the perpetrator. Around 10:15 PM, a 30-year-old woman was assaulted while descending the stairs at the N/Q/R subway station located at 49th Street and 7th Avenue.

An unidentified individual, ascending the stairs, reached under the woman’s dress before fleeing the scene on foot. The victim did not sustain physical injuries during the assault. The NYPD has released media depicting the suspect and requests the public’s assistance in identifying him.
