OAKLAND, NJ – While on patrol, Officer Jonathan Coleman witnessed a male party assault another male party in the parking lot of the old Burger King, specifically by kicking the victim while he was on the ground. During the course of the investigation, it was determined that the offender had operated a motor vehicle and was legally intoxicated.
The 30-year-old male resident of Oakland was taken into custody and charged with Simple Assault as well as Driving Under the Influence. The offender was processed and later released to a family member with a court date set to later appear in the Oakland Municipal Court. Officers Edward McDermott, Matthew Lopez, and Timothy McDonough assisted.
