TOMS RIVER, N.J. – José L. Gutierrez-Hernandez, 25, of Ocean County, was taken into custody on January 10, 2025, and is facing multiple charges, including burglary, criminal mischief, and drug-related offenses, according to county jail records.

Gutierrez-Hernandez was booked and is currently being held at the Ocean County Jail. He faces no bail on a criminal mischief and burglary case, while a separate case involving improper disposal of controlled dangerous substances carries a $1,000 cash bond.

Authorities charged Gutierrez-Hernandez with criminal mischief for property damage under statute 2C:17-3A(1) and burglary under statute 2C:18-2A(1). He also faces a charge of failing to properly dispose of controlled substances, classified as a fourth-degree offense.

Records also list an immigration detainer issued by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), indicating further legal proceedings.
