An India-born man is being held at the Ocean County Jail after being charged with weapons offenses and making threats to kill, according to jail records.

Toms River, NJ – An India-born man was booked into the Ocean County Jail on Friday following charges that include unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and making threats to kill, according to county inmate records.

Jadmwed Singh, 31, whose jail records also list the alias Jagmeet Singh, was committed to the county jail on Friday. Jail records show he is being held at the Ocean County Jail’s main facility and remains in custody.

Charges listed in jail records

According to the inmate roster, Singh is charged under New Jersey law with possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose (2C:39-4d), a third-degree offense; unlawful possession of a weapon (2C:39-5d), a fourth-degree offense; and threat to kill (2C:12-3b), a third-degree offense.

Immigration detainer filed

The jail record also reflects an immigration detainer issued by U.S. Immigration authorities. Singh is listed as a citizen of India, and the detainer shows no monetary amount associated with it.
