Officials Say No Immediate Threats, But NJ Ramps Up Awareness on “day of protest”

New Jersey Authorities Increase Vigilance Following Terror Attacks in Israel

In light of the recent terrorist attacks in Israel, New Jersey’s Office of the Attorney General is ramping up security measures to ensure the safety of its residents. Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin announced that his office is in regular dialogue with federal agencies, including the FBI, as well as with county prosecutors and community leaders across the state.

“While there are no specific threats to safety in New Jersey, it remains our highest priority to keep our communities safe,” said Platkin. “We are particularly focused on areas such as houses of worship for both the Jewish and Islamic faiths, large gathering spaces, and educational institutions.”

The Attorney General’s office is increasing patrols in these sensitive areas and implementing additional security measures, some of which may not be immediately visible to the public. This comes after a call to violence against the Jewish community was found circulating online. Platkin emphasized that the precautions are being taken “out of an abundance of caution.”

Residents are urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to local authorities. “No information is too insignificant to report, and we take every piece of information seriously,” Platkin added.

The state maintains its commitment to fostering an environment free from hate, intolerance, or violence. “We stand in solidarity with our Israeli and Jewish family, friends, and neighbors, as we mourn the innocent lives lost in the atrocious attacks on Israel,” Platkin said. The Attorney General assures that any changes in New Jersey’s threat level or additional safety measures will be promptly communicated to the public.
