Ohio lottery player wins $50K from two Pick 5 tickets

AKRON, OH – A lottery player in Ohio claimed $50,834 in winnings from two tickets in the Pick 5 drawing held on Wednesday. The winning numbers drawn that evening were 1-5-7-8-1.

The tickets were purchased at RS Marathon, a convenience store located at 745 E Archwood Ave in Norwalk. The unnamed winner will take home approximately $36,600 after mandatory state and federal taxes.

The Ohio Lottery offers Pick 5, a daily game. Drawings are held twice daily, at 12:29 p.m. and 7:20 p.m. Seven drawings are held each week.

The Ohio Lottery requires winners of prizes over $600 to pay federal and state taxes, which in this case total 28 percent.
