Ohio Lottery players split $500K Holiday scratch-off prize

December 12, 2024

CINCINNATI, OH — Two Ohio Lottery players are celebrating a shared $500,000 top prize after winning on the Home for the Holidays scratch-off game.

One of the winners purchased the ticket at BP Mitchell Ave on West Mitchell Avenue in Cincinnati, selecting the holiday-themed game over another option, “Hit it Big.” The decision proved life-changing as they scratched the ticket in their car and realized they had won.

After mandatory state and federal tax withholdings of 28 percent, the $500,000 prize was split evenly, with each winner taking home approximately $180,000. One winner revealed plans to use the winnings to buy a house and invest in property.

Home for the Holidays is a $10 scratch-off game that offers multiple chances to win big. As of Dec. 12, four $500,000 top prizes remain available in the game.

This win highlights the excitement of the holiday season for Ohio Lottery players statewide.
