One Dead in Goshen Road Crash

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD – A fatal two-vehicle accident occurred early Saturday morning on Goshen Road near Rock Elm Way, leading to an ongoing investigation by Montgomery County Police.

The incident, which took place at around 2:16 AM, involved a northbound blue 2019 Kia Stinger and a southbound white 2021 Hyundai Venue. Emergency responders from the 6th District and Montgomery County Fire Rescue were dispatched to the scene following the collision report.

Yanique Tyshay Jones, a 25-year-old from Rockville, was the driver of the Hyundai. After being extricated from her vehicle, she was rushed to a hospital where she was later pronounced dead. The driver of the Kia sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was also hospitalized.

The Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) of the Montgomery County Department of Police is handling the investigation to determine the specifics of the crash.
