One dead, several injured in Columbus shooting at large gathering

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A shooting early Saturday morning in downtown Columbus left one person dead and several others injured, according to the Columbus Division of Police.

At approximately 3:15 a.m. on June 14, patrol officers were dispatched to the intersection of S. Ludlow Street and W. Town Street following reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, officers located six individuals suffering from gunshot wounds, including five adults and one juvenile. Another juvenile at the scene was found with non-gunshot-related injuries.

All victims were transported to area hospitals for treatment. Police later reported that an additional adult victim arrived at a hospital after self-transporting.

On Sunday at 12:36 p.m., medical personnel pronounced Jusiah Mason deceased due to injuries sustained in the shooting. The remaining victims are reported to be in stable condition.

Police seek public’s assistance with investigation

Detectives believe a large crowd was present at the time of the shooting. Authorities are requesting anyone with video, photographs, or digital evidence related to the incident to submit it using a provided QR code. Submissions can remain anonymous and do not require an account.

Police have not released information about suspects or potential motives as the investigation continues.
