One in Four Conference Focuses on Stalking Awareness

Frederick, MD – The One in Four Conference, sponsored by the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office, included a presentation by Brett Engler, Chief Assistant State’s Attorney for the Domestic Violence Unit. The event, held at the Residence Inn in Frederick, centered on the theme “Stalking: Know It, Name It, Stop It.”

During Domestic Violence Awareness month, the conference aimed to educate public safety partners on identifying and combating stalking behaviors. ASA Engler presented a history of stalking in society and the development of legislation to protect victims.

Her presentation also included current stalking statutes and prosecution practices for stalking crimes. The event was part of ongoing efforts to enhance public awareness and safety measures in the community.
