Orthodox Community Delivers Large Donation to Help Hispanic Families in Need in Lakewood

LAKEWOOD-Voz Latina of Lakewood today received a large donation of food and supplies from their Orthodox Jewish neighbors.  Voz Latina is a nationwide student resource group that also operates in New Jersey.

La Voz Latina is a Pan-Latino student organization dedicated to addressing the various needs of Latinos through social, educational, cultural, and political functions we strive to be the collective voice of the Latino community.

Alejandra Morales, with Voz Latina in Lakewood shared the news.

“Today we received donations from our Orthodox neighbors. They brought us food, cleaning products, toiletries, toys and so much more,” Morales said. “This show of solidarity really touches my heart. It comes during a very difficult moment for all of us in Lakewood and beyond. “

The donation included car and truck loads of food, supplies and toys to distribute to the Hispanic community in Lakewood.

These donations we have received in the last couple of days are already helping Latino families in Lakewood,” she added. “We’re very thankful to Eli Liberman, Nechama Basser, and all of our Orthodox Jewish neighbors who are showing their solidarity with us in these difficult times. We’re together in this and together we’ll make it through. Thank you very much from the bottom of my heart.”
