WOODBRIDGE, Va. — A fatal crash occurred early Wednesday morning when a 2017 Toyota Camry, traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of Caton Hill Road, collided head-on with a 2015 Toyota Corolla, police said.

The crash took place near Killarney Drive at approximately 6:07 a.m. The passenger in the Camry, identified as Elvis Gabriel Alvarez, 23, of Alexandria, was transported to an area hospital, where he later died from injuries sustained in the collision.

Neither Alvarez nor the Camry’s driver, a 21-year-old woman from Springfield, were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash, according to investigators. Both drivers were also transported to hospitals with serious injuries.

Police are seeking information from anyone who may have witnessed the crash or observed the driving behavior of the Camry prior to the collision. The investigation remains ongoing.
