PATERSON, NJ — Despite the rain, members of the Paterson Police Department departed Friday to begin the 2025 Police Unity Tour, joining thousands of officers on a multi-day bike ride to Washington, D.C. to honor fallen colleagues.
The annual event raises awareness and funds for the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial and Museum. The Paterson officers ride in memory of those who lost their lives in the line of duty, continuing the tour’s mission: “We Ride for Those Who Died.”

The department shared their support and well wishes for the participating officers, celebrating their dedication and commitment in taking part despite challenging weather conditions.
Officers from across the country will converge in Washington, D.C. as part of the tour, which began in 1997 and has since grown into a national tribute to law enforcement sacrifice.
Paterson Police posted photos and messages of encouragement on social media, rallying community support for the riders.
