Pedestrian Struck by Vehicle in Wall Township Investigation Underway

WALL TOWNSHIP, NJ — A serious vehicle-versus-pedestrian accident is currently under investigation by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, as announced by Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago on Thursday.

The incident occurred on Monday, April 15, 2024, at around 11:22 AM at the intersection of Route 35 and Warren Avenue. An 82-year-old male driving a 2007 Maserati was making a left-hand turn onto State Route 35 southbound when he collided with a 78-year-old male pedestrian. The pedestrian was crossing the road in the designated crosswalk from east to west at the time of the accident.

The injured pedestrian was promptly taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Maserati remained at the scene following the crash. Details are still emerging as local authorities continue their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident.
