Pennsylvania players get shot at $1M and NASCAR VIP trip

MIDDLETOWN, PA — Powerball players in Pennsylvania now have two new ways to win big — including a shot at a $1 million prize and an exclusive VIP trip to NASCAR Championship Weekend — as part of a multi-state promotion announced Wednesday by the Pennsylvania Lottery.

Through June 5, the Lottery is running two promotional drawings: a Second-Chance Drawing for players who buy Powerball tickets in stores and an Online Prize Drawing for those who purchase tickets digitally. Both will feed into a national pool of entries for the NASCAR Powerball Playoff, which will ultimately award one finalist a $1 million prize.

From the Pennsylvania drawings, 45 winners will be selected — 35 from the Second-Chance Drawing and 10 from the Online Prize Drawing — and entered into a national drawing. In addition to qualifying for the playoff, Second-Chance winners will receive $2,000 in cash, and Online Prize Drawing winners will receive $200 in online bonus money.

The final event, the VIP Experience Prize Trip, includes travel to Phoenix Raceway from October 31 to November 2 for the NASCAR Championship Weekend, where four finalists will be chosen for the $1 million grand prize drawing.

How the NASCAR Powerball Playoff works

From all participating U.S. lotteries, 16 semifinalists will be chosen to advance to the Powerball Playoff rounds, with a maximum of one representative per lottery. These semifinalists will be revealed during the Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona International Speedway on August 23.

The playoff will follow NASCAR’s elimination structure, with rounds of drawings trimming the field. All semifinalists will receive cash prizes based on when they are eliminated. The last four standing will receive a VIP trip to Phoenix and compete for the $1 million prize.

The promotion includes 28 U.S. lotteries, with more expected to join before the playoff begins.
