Perkins is Making a New Jersey Comeback with 46 New Franchise Locations

FORT MONMOUTH, N.J. — Perkins American Food Co. is launching into its new fiscal year with major expansion plans in New Jersey, announcing that all 46 available franchise units for its new café concept, Perkins Griddle & Go, have been sold across four counties.

The new fast-casual model will open its first New Jersey location by October at the Netflix Studios campus in Fort Monmouth, which developers have dubbed “The Hollywood of the East.” The site will also serve as the flagship location for the Griddle & Go brand.

Perkins signed multi-unit franchise deals in Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth, and Ocean counties, fully selling out available territories in each market. New Jersey is currently the top growth state for the concept.

“Franchisees across the country have shown strong interest in Griddle & Go. We signed an impressive number of units in New Jersey, which will be home to our flagship U.S. restaurant,” said Peter Ortiz, Chief Development Officer for Ascent Hospitality Management.

Perkins Griddle & Go offers a compact, modern café setting with digital menus and self-order kiosks, designed for speed and convenience. The format also includes a sit-down area for customers seeking a more relaxed dining option.

The expansion follows a record-breaking fiscal year for Perkins American Food Co. Nationwide, the company has also signed development agreements in California, Texas, and Canada.

“Franchisees from all sorts of backgrounds are joining us in growing Perkins Griddle & Go,” said Mike Ackley, Senior Director of Franchise Marketing and Development. “Many have one thing in common, and that’s their shared passion for Perkins.”
