Philadelphia man charged for fatal Thanksgiving hit and run in Cherry Hill

CHERRY HILL, NJ – A Philadelphia man has been charged for his alleged involvement in a fatal hit and run crash on Thanksgiving evening, following an extensive investigation by the Cherry Hill Police Department.

Defendant: Michael R. Rodgers Jr., 29 years of age 900 block of Spruce St. Philadelphia, PA 19107

November 25, 2021 Charges:

1. Knowingly Leaving the Scene of a Fatal Accident (2nd Degree)

2. Obstructing the Administration of Law (4th degree)

On November 30, 2021, members of the Cherry Hill Investigative and Traffic Safety Units identified Rodgers as a possible suspect for the fatal crash. On December 2, 2021 Rodgers was charged with the above offenses.

The Cherry Hill Police Department would like to acknowledge the following Law Enforcement agencies for their assistance with this investigation; Delaware River Port Authority Police, Philadelphia Police Department, the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office as well as the New Jersey Department of Transportation.
