Philadelphia police respond to reported firearm incident at Bartram High School, two detained

PHILADELPHIA, PA — Officers responded to reports of a male student with a firearm inside Bartram High School on Tuesday morning, prompting an immediate lockdown of the campus at 6700 Elmwood Avenue.

Two male individuals believed to be involved in bringing the weapon onto school property have been detained, though authorities have not yet located or recovered the firearm.

To ensure safety, school administrators announced an early dismissal for all students and staff while Counter-Terrorism and SWAT units remain on-site to assist in the investigation.

Law enforcement has not disclosed further details on how the incident unfolded or the identities of those detained, as the investigation remains active.
