Philadelphia police searching for armed and dangerous teen wanted for attempted murder

PHILADELPHIA — The Philadelphia Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating 16-year-old Jayvonne Solomon, who is wanted for attempted murder, aggravated assault, and firearms violations in connection to a shooting that occurred on April 5, 2023.

Authorities said the shooting took place at 9:28 p.m. on the 700 block of Jackson Street. Solomon, described as a Black male, 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing approximately 140 pounds, is considered armed and dangerous.

His last known address was on the 1600 block of North 30th Street, and police say he is known to frequent the area of 3rd to 5th Streets, between Washington and Carpenter Streets.

Officials are urging the public not to approach Solomon. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact the Philadelphia Police Department’s Shooting Investigation Group at 215-686-3271 or call the anonymous tip line at 215-686-TIPS (8477).
