Philadelphia homicide detectives have released images of a suspect wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of an off-duty police officer and are offering a $20,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction.

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — The Philadelphia Police Department is asking for the public’s help identifying a man wanted in connection with the murder of an off-duty Philadelphia police officer.

The department’s Homicide Unit released photographs of the suspect and is urging anyone who recognizes him or knows his whereabouts to come forward.

The officer was identified as Alhassane Barry, shot and killed at a lounge while off duty.

Police described the suspect as approximately 6 feet tall with a thin-to-medium build, dark complexion and medium-to-bushy cropped hair. Investigators believe he is in his mid-to-late 20s.

At the time of the shooting, the suspect was reportedly wearing a black hooded jacket, black pants, a light blue surgical mask and black sneaker-style boots. He also had a long key chain hanging from the back of his pants and was wearing a large wristwatch.

According to investigators, the suspect was seen walking toward the crime scene from the area of 73rd Street and Buist Avenue before the shooting.
