PHILADELPHIA, PA (November 23, 2023) — Philadelphia’s beloved Christmas Village is set to open its 16th season following the Thanksgiving Parade on November 23, 2023. Located at LOVE Park and City Hall’s courtyard, the Christmas Village is renowned as one of the largest and most authentic German Christmas markets in the United States. A special preview weekend is scheduled for November 18 and 19, 2023.

The market offers free admission, with shopping, food, and drink available on a pay-as-you-go basis. This year, visitors can enjoy extended hours, European market lights, and the introduction of Vegan Wurst Wednesdays.

With over 120 local and international vendors, Christmas Village is a festive shopping destination offering a wide range of gifts. Attractions returning this year include a double-decker carousel, a Ferris wheel, a kids train, traditional German foods like Bratwurst and Schnitzel, the German beer garden known as The Alm, and beverages such as Glühwein and hot chocolate.

Noteworthy events include the appearance of the original Christkind from Nuremberg, Germany, on November 26, 2023, to officially open the market. Family Day is scheduled for December 10, 2023, featuring Phil the Reindeer, and the German American Weekend will be held on December 11 and 12, 2023, with cultural activities and competitions.

Additionally, the Made in Philadelphia Market at Dilworth Park will host 40 more vendors, offering a diverse range of products including ornaments, toys, apparel, jewelry, home goods, artwork, and much more.
