Andrés gained worldwide acclaim for his humanitarian work, particularly with his nonprofit, World Central Kitchen, which aids disaster-stricken areas. However, Andrés recently expressed public criticism of Biden after seven of his staff members were tragically killed during an Israeli raid in Gaza. World Central Kitchen had been actively providing humanitarian aid in the region, and Andrés has since called for independent investigations into the attack.
The Florida assassination attempt has political ramifications, as Congresswoman Mikie Sherrill directly blamed Donald Trump and the Republican Party for stoking misinformation and fear, contributing to these radical acts of violence.
