A Piscataway man died and three passengers were injured after a two-vehicle crash on Finderne Avenue in Bridgewater Township, prompting an ongoing fatal accident investigation.
A deadly crash on Finderne Avenue near Van Veghten Drive in Bridgewater Township has left one man dead and several others injured, according to the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office.
The collision occurred at approximately 9:41 p.m. Saturday when Bridgewater Township police responded to reports of a two-car crash involving a Honda and a Kia.
Driver Dies After Being Rushed to Hospital
Investigators said the driver of the Honda was transported to a regional trauma center for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash.
The driver of the Kia, a man from Piscataway, suffered critical injuries and was rushed to a local trauma hospital. Despite lifesaving efforts, he later died from his injuries.
“The driver of the Kia, a male resident from Piscataway, suffered critical injuries from the accident,” Prosecutor John P. McDonald said. “The driver of the Kia was transported to a local trauma hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.”
Three Passengers Also Injured
Authorities said the front-seat passenger and two rear-seat passengers in the Kia were also injured in the crash.
All three were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Officials have not released the identities of those involved pending the ongoing investigation.
Crash Reconstruction Team Investigating
Members of the Somerset County Collision Analysis Reconstruction Team, the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit, and the Bridgewater Police Department Traffic Safety Unit responded to the scene to investigate.
“The investigation is currently ongoing pending the results of the Collision Analysis Reconstruction Team’s findings,” officials said.
