Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll, along with Chief of Investigations Robert McNally and Roxbury Township Police Department Chief Dean Adone, have announced the arrest of Nicholas Zirpoli, 35, of Lincoln Park, New Jersey. Zirpoli, who owns and operates Plato’s Closet in Roxbury Township, is facing severe charges related to manufacturing child [censored]ography and invasion of privacy among his employees.

Allegations against Zirpoli include the surreptitious recording of male and female employees in the store’s restroom using a hidden device around February 26, 2023, and the subsequent destruction of evidence related to these recordings. Investigations have revealed that Zirpoli recorded both a juvenile female employee and an adult male employee on separate occasions.

The charges laid against Zirpoli are extensive, including one count of Manufacturing Child Pornography, a first-degree crime; one count of Filming a Child in a Prohibited Sexual Act, a second-degree crime; one count of Possession of Child Pornography and one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, both third-degree crimes; ten counts of Invasion of Privacy, also third-degree crimes; and one count of Tampering with Evidence, a fourth-degree crime.

Following his arrest, Zirpoli was initially placed in the Morris County Correctional Facility. He has since been released on pre-trial monitoring conditions as of February 8, 2024, pursuant to the Criminal Justice Reform Act.
