POINT PLEASANT BEACH, NJ – Point Pleasant Beach Mayor Paul Kanitra announced today that he is lifting the ridiculous parking ban east of Route 35. Since before Memorial Day weekend, Kanitra made sure outsiders didn’t park on his town’s streets while he enforced a town-wide closure to outsiders, closed the boardwalk and beach. Now, in case anyone still wants to go, you can park on the streets again…but this might only be temporary.
“Effective tomorrow, June 5th, temporary parking restrictions east of rail road tracks will be lifted. Please keep your passes in the event we need to re-instate the program in the future,” Kanitra’s administration said today. “Applications for outdoor temporary seating for restaurants will be available tomorrow, Friday June 5th on the Borough’s website and Facebook page, and will be made available to be picked up in person in the Police Lobby of Borough Hall. For additional information refer to amendment number 5 on our website under announcements.”
Capacity at hotels this weekend, hotels and motels in Point Pleasant Beach will be set to fifty percent (50%) capacity, and Rental Certificate of Occupancies are now being processed for stays commencing on June 12th and later. It wasn’t very specific whether that meant the hotels could rent out 50% of the rooms or if you have to leave 1/2 your family behind…you never know with Kanitra at the helm, but most likely 50% of the rooms.
