TOMS RIVER, N.J. — A civil lawsuit filed in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Ocean County, alleges that a Point Pleasant woman sustained permanent injuries after another driver rear-ended her vehicle while it was stopped on Route 88.
According to the complaint, plaintiff Linda DiSpirito of Point Pleasant filed suit against Maureen Muldoon, also of Point Pleasant, seeking damages stemming from the Jan. 10, 2024, crash. The complaint was filed Jan. 1 in Ocean County Superior Court.

Court filings state DiSpirito was stopped on Route 88 near its intersection with Bridge Avenue in Point Pleasant when Muldoon’s vehicle allegedly struck the rear of her vehicle. The lawsuit claims Muldoon operated her vehicle in a careless, negligent and reckless manner and failed to maintain proper control.
The complaint alleges the collision caused DiSpirito to suffer personal injuries, incur medical expenses, experience pain and suffering, and sustain damages for which she is seeking compensation.
