Police Execute Search Warrant in Harrington, Leading to Arrest on Gun and Drug Charges

Harrington, DE – Delaware State Police have detained John Cox, age 33, of Harrington, Delaware, on multiple felony gun and drug charges after executing a search warrant at a local residence on Wednesday.

On Wednesday, members of the Kent County Governor’s Task Force and the Delaware State Police Special Operations Response Team conducted a search at a house located on the 400 block of Jackson Ditch Road in Harrington.

This action followed an investigation into Cox and allegations of illegal narcotics distribution from the property. Cox was apprehended on-site without incident.

The search revealed various illegal items including approximately 13.58 grams of methamphetamines, naloxone strips, a 12-gauge shotgun, shotgun ammunition, a digital scale, and drug paraphernalia. These discoveries led to Cox’s immediate arrest.

Cox was transported to Troop 3 where he was formally charged. The charges included possession of a deadly weapon by a person prohibited who also possesses a controlled substance (felony), possession of a firearm or ammunition by a person prohibited (felony) – 2 counts, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance
