Man shot in Southeast DC as police search for suspect seen fleeing on bike

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Police are investigating a shooting in Southeast D.C. and searching for a suspect who fled the scene Sunday night.

The incident happened around 9:20 p.m. in the 2800 block of Hartford Street Southeast, according to a Metropolitan Police Department crime alert.

Authorities described the suspect as a Black male with a short hairstyle and full beard, last seen wearing a white long-sleeve shirt, dark pants and light-colored shoes.

Police said the suspect was initially seen riding a lime bike and was last spotted on foot heading toward Buena Vista Terrace Southeast.

No additional information about the victim or injuries has been released.
