Police hunt Brooklyn burglar who struck two businesses in one night

Brooklyn, NY – Detectives are searching for a suspect linked to a burglary pattern spanning two precincts after a pair of late-night break-ins along 86th Street left businesses with stolen cash and damaged property, according to the New York City Police Department.

The first incident occurred around 9:50 p.m. on September 21 inside a commercial establishment at 2007 86th Street, within the 62nd Precinct. Investigators said the suspect entered the building by climbing through the roof and stole approximately $450 from the register before escaping the same way.

Just hours later, around 1:00 a.m. on September 22, a second burglary was reported at 515 86th Street, within the 68th Precinct. Police said the same individual is believed to have broken through a door to enter the store, where he stole both merchandise and currency before fleeing on foot through the basement.

The NYPD has released surveillance images of the suspect and is asking anyone with information on his identity or whereabouts to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.

A late-night thief turned Brooklyn rooftops and doors into his escape routes of choice.
