Police impersonator charged with kidnapping

TULSA, OK – A woman who called the Tulsa Police Department claimed she was being threatened with by a Tulsa police officer who was asking her for sexual favors. The police department immediately knew there was a crime being committed and went to her hotel room Monday afternoon.

“The victim stated she met this man online. He came to her hotel room and allegedly handcuffed her and stated she was under arrest, then requested sexual favors,” the Tulsa Police Department said. “The suspect stated he was an undercover officer, and his badge was “in the car” but he appeared to have a firearm concealed on his hip.”

After calling 911, the suspect fled the scene, but not before the woman wrote down his license plate number.

Officers from the Special Investigations Division Human Trafficking and Vice Unit were able to identify the suspect as Trent Bain.

“Bain is not employed by or associated with the Tulsa Police Department or any other law enforcement agency. Officers served a search warrant at Bain’s residence in Jenk,” the department said. “Officers located a silver “concealed carry” badge purchased from Army Surplus on Bain’s person as well as a firearm in his residence.”

The Tulsa Police said Bain was placed under arrest for kidnapping and impersonating a police officer. During an interview with HTV Officers, Bain stated he had a similar encounter with a separate female he had met online. Police now have reason to believe there could possibly be other victims. If you are a victim or have had contact with Bain where he claimed to be a Police Officer, please contact our Human Trafficking Unit at 918-586-6333
