Police investigate alleged street gun battle in Glen Burnie

GLEN BURNIE, Md. — Anne Arundel County Police are investigating a shooting incident involving an exchange of gunfire between two groups on Wednesday night in the Southgate Old Mill Park area.

Officers responded to reports of multiple gunshots at approximately 8:28 p.m. and located evidence of gunfire, including shell casings, in the 400 block of Long Towne Court. A further canvass of the area uncovered additional shell casings and a vehicle damaged during the incident.

Preliminary investigations suggest two groups of individuals were involved in the shooting. Police have described suspects in one group as wearing dark hooded sweatshirts with the hoods up, with one carrying a handgun. The other group’s number and identities remain unknown.

Eastern District detectives are leading the investigation and are urging anyone with information to contact 410-222-6155. Anonymous tips can also be submitted to the Anne Arundel County Police Tip Line at 410-222-4700.
