Police Presence at Westfield School Heres What You Need to Know

WESTFIELD, NJ — Residents are advised not to be alarmed by the heightened presence of emergency personnel and activities around Holy Trinity School from Tuesday, April 2nd to Saturday, April 6th. The Westfield Police Department, in collaboration with the Town of Westfield, NJ Fire Department and the Westfield Volunteer Rescue Squad, will be conducting comprehensive training exercises.

These exercises, scheduled between 8 AM and 4 PM on each day, aim to enhance the emergency response capabilities of local services. With Holy Trinity School currently closed for Easter Break, no students or staff will be present. Community members can expect to see an increased number of emergency vehicles and responders, as well as police personnel equipped with training weapons on both the First Street and Watterson Street sides of the school. Sounds of yelling, crashing, and banging may also be audible during the training periods.

This initiative is designed to bolster the preparedness of Westfield’s emergency services for handling large-scale incidents, ensuring a swift and effective response to any future emergencies.
