Police Seek Clues in Serious Rollover Crash

May 23, 2024

SALISBURY, MD—A severe motor vehicle accident occurred on the night of Wednesday, May 22, 2024, resulting in life-threatening injuries for a driver in Salisbury. The Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office has reported that deputies along with EMS were called to the scene in the 7100 block of Rockawalkin Rd at approximately 10:55 pm.

Upon arrival, authorities found that a 2009 Nissan Altima had rolled over, and the driver, who was the sole occupant, had been ejected from the vehicle. The victim was quickly airlifted to a medical facility due to the severity of the injuries sustained.

The Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Unit (CRU) was promptly on site to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. Preliminary findings suggest that the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to leave the roadway and roll over.

As part of ongoing investigative efforts, Rockawalkin Rd will be temporarily closed from North Tourmaline Dr to South Tourmaline Dr starting at 9:00 am with the road expected to reopen by 12:00 pm.

The Sheriff’s Office is appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has any relevant information to come forward and contact Sgt Shelley Lewis. This information could be crucial in further understanding the events leading up to the tragic accident.
