Police seek suspects in armed robbery outside Silver Spring apartment complex

Silver Spring, MD – Montgomery County Police are searching for three masked suspects involved in an armed robbery earlier this month in a Silver Spring parking lot.

Detectives say the incident occurred on October 2 at around 7:52 p.m. in the 1000 block of Quebec Terrace.

The suspects fled the scene in a gray Hyundai sedan with a broken tag light and inoperative stoplight.

Victim confronted by armed suspect

According to investigators, the victim was cleaning his car when a gray Hyundai pulled up nearby. One suspect exited the vehicle, pointed a handgun at the victim, and demanded property. Two other suspects then joined, searching the victim’s vehicle before stealing his cellphone and driving away.

The suspect vehicle is described as a gray Hyundai sedan with a malfunctioning tag light and stoplight. Police released surveillance images showing the car and are urging anyone who recognizes it to come forward.

The Montgomery County Department of Police’s 3rd District Investigative Section is handling the case. Anyone with information about the suspects or the vehicle is urged to contact Crime Solvers of Montgomery County at 1-866-411-8477 or submit a tip anonymously through www.crimesolversmcmd.org or www.p3tips.com. Tips leading to an arrest may qualify for a reward of up to $10,000.
