Police Seeking Moped Suspect Targeting Women in NYC

NEW YORK — The New York City Police Department is seeking the public’s help in identifying an individual wanted in connection with a grand larceny pattern in the 43rd Precinct, officials said.

According to police, the first incident occurred on Tuesday, at approximately 4:20 p.m. A person on a moped approached a 35-year-old woman in front of 415 Soundview Avenue and attempted to steal her phone. The suspect fled north on Soundview Avenue, and no injuries were reported.

The second incident took place on Friday, at around 6:30 p.m. A person, also on a moped, approached a 21-year-old woman in front of 2264 Gleason Avenue and snatched her phone. The individual then fled on Havemeyer Avenue. Again, no injuries were reported.

Both incidents are under investigation, and police are asking anyone with information to contact authorities.
