Police seeking suspects in liquor store armed robbery

NEWARK, NJ – Newark Public Safety Director Brian A. O’Hara requests the public’s help in identifying the below-pictured armed robbery suspects in an incident that occurred on Monday, November 23, 2021.

At approximately 8:10 p.m., police responded to Wine Liquor, located at 61 Pennsylvania Avenue, on a call of an armed robbery. The two suspects exited a 2-door BMW convertible with an unknown plate and demanded cash at gunpoint from two victims, a male and female, who were standing outside the store. The suspects then re-entered the vehicle and fled northbound on Parkhurst Street.

While detectives are actively searching for these suspects, we seek the public’s help in identifying them as part of their investigation. The first suspect is described as having a slim built and wearing all black with a black ski mask. The second suspect is described as a heavy set male also wearing all black with a face mask. The below pictured vehicle is not the actual suspect vehicle.

Director O’Hara urges anyone with information about these suspects to call the Department’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
