The Delaware State Police are investigating a robbery that took place last night outside a Food Lion on Philadelphia Pike in Claymont. The incident occurred around 7:52 p.m. when a 78-year-old woman was approached by three unidentified male suspects near the cart return area as she returned to her vehicle.

One of the suspects attempted to steal the woman’s purse, leading to a brief struggle during which the purse’s contents spilled onto the ground. One of the suspects then took the victim’s car key fob before all three fled the scene on foot. Thankfully, the victim was not physically harmed.

The suspects are described as black juvenile males, with two wearing dark-colored clothing and the third in a light-colored hoodie. No surveillance footage has been released yet. Authorities are actively investigating the incident.
