Popular Republican Leader Announces Run for New Jersey Governor

Trenton, NJ – The contest for New Jersey’s gubernatorial seat is intensifying as more candidates prepare to enter the fray. Jon Bramnick, a Republican State Senator and former State Assembly minority leader, is set to announce his candidacy this Saturday. His entry marks a significant moment in the race, given his experience and profile in state politics.

The Republican field appears to be growing, with former State Assemblyman Jack Ciattarelli, who narrowly lost to incumbent Governor Phil Murphy by a mere three-point margin in the previous election, expected to make another bid. Additionally, Bill Spadea, a well-known radio personality, is anticipated to throw his hat into the ring, adding diversity to the candidate pool.

On the Democratic side, the race already includes Jersey City Mayor Steve Fulop and former State Senate President Steve Sweeney. Their presence in the race brings a wealth of experience in state and local governance, setting the stage for a competitive primary. More candidates from the Democratic party are expected to announce their campaigns, suggesting a dynamic and potentially crowded field.

The election, scheduled for November 2025, is poised to be a closely watched event, reflecting the evolving political landscape of New Jersey. As the race heats up, the focus will be on the various platforms and visions each candidate brings to the table, shaping the future direction of the state.
