Porch shooting suspect found guilty after targeting multiple victims

Coatesville man convicted of aggravated assault in porch shooting

COATESVILLE, PA — A Chester County jury has found a 23-year-old man guilty of firing multiple shots at people gathered on a porch in Coatesville, concluding a three-day trial with convictions on aggravated assault and related charges.

Damonte Reason was convicted on January 14 following proceedings before the Honorable Patrick Carmody. Prosecutors said Reason intentionally opened fire at several victims standing outside a residence before fleeing the scene.

No deaths were reported in connection with the shooting.

Chester County District Attorney Christopher de Barrena-Sarobe credited the conviction to coordinated efforts between his office and the Coatesville City Police Department, stating the partnership helped bring a violent offender to justice.

Sentencing will be scheduled at a later date.
