Pork Roll Eating Championship This Weekend in City Where Jersey’s Official Food Was Born

TRENTON, NJ – RiverFest returns to Trenton Thunder Ballpark on September 23, featuring the 8th Annual Trenton Thunder World Famous Case’s Pork Roll Eating Championship. The event combines culinary delights, live music, craft beers, and a range of activities for fans of all ages.

Pork Roll was invented by John Taylor in 1856 in the state capital. He called it Taylor Ham. A few years later, in 1870, George Washington Case made his own brand of this new culinary delight and named is Case Pork Roll in Belle Mead.

Let the debate ignite. Taylor Ham or Pork Roll?

Since 2015, the championship has been a staple at Trenton Thunder Ballpark, attracting some of the world’s most talented eaters for a ten-minute eating competition. Alongside the competition, attendees can enjoy a menu inspired by the Trenton-founded Case’s Pork Roll, seasonal craft beers, and live performances from local bands.

The event is set to offer a variety of games and activities throughout the park, ensuring a day of entertainment and community engagement for the whole family.
