Powerball ticket sold at NJ 7-Eleven wins $1 million

Powerball luck strikes in Union County as $1 million ticket sold at 7-Eleven

Trenton, NJ – A Powerball ticket sold in Union County hit big on Wednesday, matching all five white balls to score a $1 million prize — just one number short of claiming the massive $629 million jackpot still up for grabs.

The winning ticket, sold at 7-Eleven #11430 at 921 Mountain Avenue in Mountainside, matched the numbers 10, 31, 49, 51 and 68. The only number missing was the red Power Ball, which came up as 19. The Power Play multiplier was 2x, but the ticket was not eligible for the multiplier.

While no player hit the jackpot in Wednesday’s multi-state draw, the top prize has now surged to an estimated $629 million ahead of Saturday night’s drawing. The lump sum cash value of the jackpot stands at $294.5 million.

The Union County winner becomes New Jersey’s latest big lottery winner in a year that has already seen multiple million-dollar tickets sold across the country. The identity of the winner has not been revealed, and the prize has not yet been claimed as of Thursday morning.

This year, five Powerball jackpots have already been hit, with prize totals ranging from $167.3 million to over $526 million. The largest came on September 6, when a $1.8 billion prize — the second-largest in U.S. lottery history — was split between winners in Missouri and Texas.

In addition to the main drawing, Wednesday’s Double Play numbers were 17, 19, 47, 53 and 61, with the Double Play ball landing on 08. The top prize for the Double Play feature, which requires a separate wager, is $10 million.

Lottery officials are reminding players to check their tickets carefully and sign the back for security purposes. All winning tickets must be validated by the New Jersey Lottery before prizes are issued.

As the jackpot climbs, ticket sales are expected to surge going into the weekend. The next Powerball drawing is set for Saturday at 10:59 p.m. ET.
