Powerball win lands six figures for Bay Shore ticket holder

Bay Shore Powerball player wins $100K with Powerplay ticket sold at local deli

Bay Shore, NY – A third-prize Powerball ticket with Powerplay sold at a Bay Shore deli turned into a $100,000 win for one lucky player in Friday night’s drawing.

The winning ticket was sold at R & A Deli & Grocery, located at 1789 5th Avenue. It matched four numbers plus the Power Ball in the September 13 drawing and included the Powerplay option, which doubled the standard $50,000 third-tier prize.

Powerball numbers are drawn from a field of 1 to 69, with the Power Ball selected from a separate pool of 1 to 26. The Powerplay feature — available for an additional cost — multiplies non-jackpot prizes by 2, 3, 4, 5, or even 10 times, depending on the multiplier drawn.

Drawings take place every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. Players have one year from the date of the draw to claim their winnings.

The New York Lottery contributed $3.6 billion this fiscal year to help fund public education across the state.
