Prince George’s County man scores $50,000 Bonus Match 5 jackpot

November 20, 2024

OXON HILL, MD — A Prince George’s County Lottery fan, affectionately known as “Romeo,” hit the jackpot with a $50,000 top prize in the Bonus Match 5 game, thanks to a quick-pick ticket purchased in October.

“Romeo,” a Lottery enthusiast with over 30 years of playing experience, bought the winning ticket on October 26 at Al’s Beer & Wine, located at 6224 Oxon Hill Road. While his Pick 3 and Pick 5 tickets didn’t hit, the Bonus Match 5 ticket delivered a life-changing result.

“When I scanned the ticket the next day, I couldn’t believe my eyes,” said “Romeo,” recalling the moment he saw the $50,000 winner message. Staying calm, he kept the news to himself and avoided drawing attention.

The winner plans to use his windfall to invest, buy a car, and treat his children to holiday shopping. The lucky retailer, Al’s Beer & Wine, will also receive a $500 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
