Prisoner Escapes Custody and Flees Down the FDR in Manhattan

NYPD Seeks Public’s Help in Locating Escaped Detainee

New York, NY – The New York City Police Department is requesting public assistance in locating an individual who escaped from corrections custody at Bellevue Hospital within the confines of the 13th Precinct.

On Wednesday, at approximately 9:38 PM, James Mossetty, who was being treated at NYC Health and Hospitals/Bellevue while in the custody of the Department of Corrections, fled the location on foot. He was last seen running into the FDR Drive and has since disappeared.

James Mossetty, a 35-year-old White Hispanic male, is described as approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, gray sweatpants, black glasses, and black shoes.

Mossetty is serving time for assault, drug possession, and theft.

Authorities urge anyone with information on Mossetty’s whereabouts to contact the NYPD immediately.
