OMAHA, NE – A Nebraska school teacher is now behind bars after he admitted on Facebook to killing a pedophile. James Fairbanks, 43, was taken in by Douglas County Corrections Tuesday morning for murder after making the confession. His victim was convicted and registered sex offender Mattieo Condoluci, 64. Condoluci was convicted twice for sexually assaulting children, in 1994 and 2007. Fairbanks worked as a paraprofessional within the Omaha School District.
Fairbanks said he was driven to kill Condoluci after when he saw the convicted sex offender pretending to wash his truck near a group of children playing in the street. “I went to drive away and noticed to my amazement this twice-convicted sex offender had a playground set in his backyard! No fence. Just a slide and a playhouse. I felt sick to my stomach,” he said in a Facebook post.
“I researched him more and more and found out he had victimized dozens of kids in different states,” Fairbanks said. “I am writing this email to let you know that I killed Matteio Condoluci.”
“We can not let this continue to happen to out [sic] children. They must be stopped. I know in this messed up judicial system that means I will face far more severe punishment for stopping him then [sic] he did for raping KIDS. But I could not longer do nothing,” he added.
