Pulaski Highway road rage escalates to shooting

Newark, DE – Delaware State Police Detectives are investigating a shooting incident that occurred in the Newark area on Sunday afternoon.

On Sunday, at approximately 1:21 p.m., troopers responded to a late report of a shooting on Pulaski Highway between LaGrange Parkway and Pleasant Valley Road. Investigations revealed a 37-year-old man was traveling westbound on Pulaski Highway between 12:30 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. when he engaged in a confrontation with an unknown black male in a separate vehicle. During the encounter, the suspect in a dark blue four-door sedan lowered the front passenger window and shot at the victim’s vehicle before escaping on Pleasant Valley Road. The victim’s vehicle was struck by gunfire, but no injuries were reported.

As of now, suspect details are not available, and no surveillance videos or images have been released. Troop 2 Criminal Investigations detectives are continuing the investigation into this incident. Detectives request that anyone with information or who witnessed the event contact Detective J. Lucyk at 302-365-8446. Information can also be shared via a private Facebook message to the Delaware State Police.
