Queens mother charged with murder after death of 15 month old son inside Queens home

QUEENS, NY – A 28-year-old woman has been arrested after her 15-month-old son was found dead inside a Jamaica residence Monday afternoon, police said. Officers responded to a 911 call around 1:37 p.m. reporting an assault inside 108-33 157 Street, where they discovered the infant unconscious and unresponsive alongside a woman suffering from slash wounds to her wrists.

Emergency responders transported both individuals to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where the child, identified as Charlie Ramraykha of 157 Street, was pronounced dead. The woman, identified as Nicole Boodhai of Queens, was listed in stable condition.

Following the investigation, Boodhai was taken into custody and charged with murder and endangering the welfare of a child. The Office of Chief Medical Examiner will determine the official cause of the child’s death.

Police have not released further details on the circumstances surrounding the incident, and the investigation remains ongoing.
