Repeat Entry Illegal MS 13 Member With Multiple Convictions Captured in Hyattsville

BALTIMORE — The Baltimore office of Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) has arrested a 36-year-old Salvadoran gang member with a history of criminal convictions and multiple illegal entries into the United States. The arrest took place at the individual’s residence in Hyattsville, Maryland, by ERO Baltimore’s Fugitive Operations Team on March 5.

Field Office Director Darius Reeves emphasized the threat this individual has posed to Maryland communities through repeated law violations. The Salvadoran gang member, a documented member of the MS-13 criminal enterprise, has been removed from the United States three times previously but unlawfully re-entered the country on four occasions.

His criminal record includes 17 arrests by various law enforcement agencies from December 2005 to March 2024 for charges including destruction of property, theft, burglary, and illegal re-entry into the United States. Despite being convicted seven times for these crimes, local jurisdictions, including Prince George’s County and Washington, D.C., have refused to honor ERO’s immigration detainers on multiple occasions, leading to his release back into the community.

After eluding ERO officers in a January attempt to arrest him, the Fugitive Operations Team successfully apprehended the gang member at his Hyattsville home. He is currently in the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service, pending criminal prosecution for illegal re-entry into the United States. ERO Baltimore plans to seek his removal following the conclusion of his criminal proceedings, continuing their efforts to ensure the safety of local communities by targeting individuals who pose significant public safety threats.
